Czech School
For those interested in learning to speak the Czech language we recommend
attending classes by Tony Jandacek which offer techniques to learn written and
spoken Czech.

Anthony (Tony) J. Jandacek was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and has
been a resident of the United States since December 1950.  He is a retired high
school teacher.  He has been associated with Morton College, Triton, and
College of Du Page as adjunct faculty member since 1963.  Tony currently
works as a freelance Czech and Slovak language instructor, consultant and
interpreter in courtrooms, language training centers, business conferences and
seminars, law office depositions, and arbitration boards.  He also acts as
architectural guide for Chicago visitors.  In the past he taught English, Czech,
Humanities (applied esthetics), Word Origins, ESL and US History for a total
of 30 years at Morton High School (East) in Cicero, Illinois.

Mr. Jandacek offers a beginner/intermediate course Monday nights from 7-9
pm.  His intermediate/advanced class is Saturday mornings 9:30-11:30 am.
Speaking and listening skills are stressed in both classes.  In addition to teaching
the Czech language, Mr. Jandacek supplements his classes with information on
the history, customs and culture of the Czech and Slovak people.  Topics of
interest to the students are also discussed.

Classes are scheduled in fall, winter and spring trimesters, but new students
are welcome to begin at any time.  A small fee is requested for each 10-week
session.  The textbook used is Czech for Beginners and is available in class.
